In a recent development, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has emphasized the need for inclusivity within the state's workforce. This call came during the swearing-in ceremony of nine newly-appointed permanent secretaries into the state civil service. Governor Buni underscored the importance of providing every employee with a clearly defined schedule of responsibilities to validate their employment.
Governor Buni noted that his administration had recently taken the significant step of hiring over 2,600 degree graduates, diploma holders, and NCE holders to fill vacant positions in the state civil service. This initiative was aimed at enhancing productivity and strengthening the state's workforce.
He urged the state's Head of Service and Permanent Secretaries to actively promote the implementation of these schedules of responsibilities, ensuring that each worker is assigned duties that substantiate their employment. This, he believes, will not only grant employees a sense of belonging and purpose but also help curb issues related to idleness and absenteeism, ultimately fostering a more dynamic and productive work environment.
Furthermore, Governor Buni called upon the newly appointed permanent secretaries to work collaboratively with their respective commissioners, directors, and staff within their ministries and departments. He emphasized the importance of teamwork, loyalty, sacrifice, and diligence in the pursuit of Yobe State's development goals.
The newly sworn-in permanent secretaries include Alhaji Modu, Umar Aji Suleiman, Abdulmumin Mamman, Tsoho Rabiu Garba, Sani Mohammed Sama’ila, Zainab Mohammed Ago, Yusuf Hassan Yusuf, Bukar Aji Bukar, and Baba Kachallah Geidam. These officials have been deployed to various ministries, departments, and agencies across the state, each entrusted with the responsibility of contributing to the overall progress of Yobe State.
