iPhone designer, Sir Jonathan Ive announces exit from Apple

Sir Jonathan Ive, the British tech guru who over two decades helped turn Apple into the world's most valuable company, is leaving to set up his own venture.
Jonathan, designer of the iMac, iPod and iPhone, will leave the company later this year to start a creative firm, LoveFrom, with Apple as its first client. "This just seems like a natural and gentle time to make this change," he said.
“While I will not be an Apple employee, I will still be very involved. I hope for many, many years to come” he added.
The departure of the world’s most famous industrial designer and the custodian of the entire Apple aesthetic from its hardware and software to its physical architecture will come as a shock to its investors and customers as many see Sir Jonathan as one of its most crucial assets as it looks beyond the iPhone into a new phase of products and services.
Apple boss, Tim Cook said his "role in Apple's revival cannot be overstated" pointing to an expanded group of in-house designers that is “the strongest it’s ever been”.
Sir Jonathan, who was knighted by the Queen in 2012, has provided vital continuity for Apple’s strategic vision since the death of its co-founder Steve Jobs in 2011 and is seen by some observers of the company as more important than Tim Cook to its pipeline of future innovations.

Akah Nnani, Sharon Ojong, and other COZA members demand a reply from Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo after he was accused of raping a minor twice

While Wale Jana of Sapphire perfumes is defending Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, other COZA church members like Akah Nnani and Sharo Ojong are demanding a reply from their pastor while promising not to remain silent this time.
This isn't the first time Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo is being accused of sexual misconduct. Ese Walters accused him years ago and he promised to give a "robust reply" which never came. His members stood by him after the accusations.
Now Busola Dakolo is accusing him of raping her twice when she was a minor and members are demanding a reply.
Media personality, Akah Nnani, who is very close to Pastor Biodun and is a member of his church, took to Instagram to demamd an explanation from the flamboyant pastor. Fashion consultant, Sharon Ojong, also a member of COZA, demanded a reply from her pastor.

Akah wrote:
I woke up to several missed calls, and text messages. My friends know my relationship with @cozaglobal.
Let me say this. COZA is my church. I love my pastor... But rape, is a serious issue. My stomach churns as I write this. I spoke with @timidakolo a week ago and tried to understand why he had taken a stance against my pastor. I had just come back from honeymoon when all my friends sent me his attacks to my pastor a few weeks ago.
I sought to understand, not to attack. I was under so much turmoil too because this is my church, my pastor, and I cannot go around like nothing is happening and the church isn't addressing anything or re-assuring the members.
We must not see evil and cover it. We must not see evil and turn the other way. You all know me. I attack and speak out against corrupt political leaders everytime. Well, this has hit home. Our leaders and our fathers must be held accountable. And they must deem us worthy to be answerable to. If we cannot clean in the church, forget it. We cannot clean the country. I am tired of hearing so much, so much rubbish about my church and leadership over the years especially cos of the industry I belong to, nothing passes our ears behind the scene.
My pastor @biodunfatoyinbo has to say something this time. If the rest of the church does not need it, I need it. For my sake, sir... Speak on this.
I stand with @busoladakolo as she has spoken her truth. I stand with the body of christ also. I ask that my pastor come out and speak his own truth.
I am praying for the church. Please let us pray for both the Dakolo and the Fatoyinbo families. (wife and kids). In the end, if we need to, let us scatter the place... Then the truth will stand up.

Even the most useless Nollywood movie director won't accept such a plot - Reno Omokri reacts to Busola Dakolo's rape story, says he doesn't believe her.

Busola Dakolo made headlines earlier today when she revealed in an interview that she was raped twice by COZA Pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo when she was fresh out of secondary school (read here and here). She added that after allegedly raping her, he told her she should be happy it was a man of God who disvirgined her.
Reno Omokri has reacted to the intervew which has since gone viral on the internet with most celebrities supporting Busola Dakolo over Pastor Fatoyinbo.
In a post he shared on Instatgram, Reno stated that even though he isn't a fan of Fatoyinbo, Busola's story doesn't add up and cannot stand up in court or in the light of cross examination.
He further said Nigerians are too gullible and are easily manipulated.

Read his post below.
For The Body of Christ, Not For Pastor Fatoyinbo
I have NEVER liked Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of COZA for reasons that I will not say publicly. However, I am mature enough to divorce my emotions and be led by logic. And I counsel those now condemning him to do the same.
The average Black African is easily moved to hysteria by excitable emotions. This is why it is RIDICULOUSLY easy to manipulate Africans with the media Satan does his best work with such people, who can’t suppress emotion in preference to logic.
Think. Dont emote. A pastor comes to your house early in the morning. He does not know who will open when he knocks, or who is at home. He knocks and immediately you open he pushed you to a chair and raped you in your pyjamas. Do people think?
Even the most USELESS movie director wont accept such a plot in a B rated Hollywood/Nollywood/Bollywood movie. A movie has to have PLAUSIBILITY. I dont like pastor Fatoyinbo, but I won’t suspend my intellect because of my dislike of the fellow.
After he allegedly raped her, she kept quiet for enough time for him to go to his car and get a soda drink for her? It does not ADD UP. My dislike for Biofun Fatoyinbo won’t make me become a SLANDERER by default. This story rings very FALSE.
I am an advocate of morality. For years, I publicly preach against premarital and extramarital sex. I pastored a congregation in Abuja for years. I will NEVER, EVER, support RAPE. But satan is going about like a roaring lion seeking whom to consume!
Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo is SLEEK. Too sleek for my liking. What type of sleek man will rape an underaged girl in HER PARENTS HOUSE. While HER SIBLINGS are AT HOME. And then leave her to go get a drink from his car. Is this mass HYPNOSIS.
Do we Black African of the Nigerian variety think at all? Do we only exist in the soulish realm? I have a Masters in Law from England. The story CANNOT stand up in court. The story CANNOT stand up in the light of cross examination.
I give you my word that if you gave satan 10 minutes to manipulate the minds of Nigerians, he will get a sizeable number of Nigerians to believe that Jesus is evil and he satan is good. We are too gullible, excitable

COZA Pastor Bidoun Fatoyinbo raped me- Timi Dakolo's wife, Busola says in shocking new interview

Wife of singer, Timi Dakolo, Busola, has accused controversial clergyman and founder of the CommonWealth of Zion  Assembly COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo, of sexually assaulting her when she was much younger.
Speaking during an explosive Y TV interview with Chude Jideonwo, the founder of Joy Inc, Busola, a photographer and a mother of three, recounted how the clergyman who has been embroiled in a number of sexual assault related cases, Ese Walter being the most prominent, allegedly raped her in her mother's house while she was still in secondary school. In her interview, Busola recounted how the clergyman also allegedly tried having sex with her inside his matrimonial home when she came in to help his wife, Modele, when she had their first child.
Recall that Timi Dakolo recently launched an attack on the clergyman, anonymously. He called out the pastor, accusing him of taking advantage of women in his ministry and leaving them broken emotionally. Read here and here.

Read the interview as reported by YNaija below and watch the full interview below
ON MEETING BIODUN FATOYINBO FOR THE FIRST TIME
Busola Dakolo was born and lived most of her early life in Ilorin. The first time she left Ilorin was for secondary school at Suleja and that time away allowed her really find her Christianity. She joined and rose to become the vice-president of the Gifted School Academy Suleja’s fellowship and embraced a conservative approach to Christianity, growing to become distrustful of churches and fellowships that tried to copy worldly trends as a way to reach people outside the church. She returned home for the holidays to find that her sisters had started attending a non-denominational ‘youth club’ that embraced all kinds of people and focused on worship and fellowship over doctrine and legalism. It took a while but  her sisters convinced her to go by telling her she needed to meet different kinds of people, especially former prostitutes and cultists that have given their lives to Christ.
Busola reluctantly joined her sisters for the youth club, but she wasn’t comfortable there, partly because of the way they worshipped and because I was the youngest person there. After the service, there was a first timers call, and Busola stood up and introduced herself, explaining her initial skepticism and how their worship had changed her mind. After the service, the pastor of the club, a much younger Biodun Fatoyinbo came looking for her after the service.
Pastor Biodun wasn’t yet married ( though he was engaged to his current wife) and the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) wasn’t yet a church, it was called Divine Delight Club.
He expressed his surprise at how bold she was for someone so young and encouraged her to keep speaking up for herself. He also managed to convince her to sing at their next meeting before she left back for school. To sell this idea, he offered to personally rehearse with her, mentioning that he played the keyboard. This was before mobile phones and internet, so Busola’s sister had to take her to Fatoyinbo, who was living with his parents at the time.
Though Busola remembers the song they rehearsed, their rehearsal was uneventful, and at the next meeting she performed, her performance moving enough that a former cultist who was attending the club public renounced his past and embraced Christianity. After, the members of the club affirmed her and Fatoyinbo convinced her through gifts of books and cassette tapes to keep attending their club when she was back home from school.
Returning to school and the more conservative worship environment she was used to was harder than she had anticipated. For the rest of her secondary school year, she struggled with guilt, shuffling between her role in the conservative Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS) and the more liberal world of Fatoyinbo’s COZA. She felt she was living a dual life. Eventually she graduated and returned home to find that Divine Delight Club had grown into a church headed by Fatoyinbo, and her sisters had convinced her family to join the church. It felt like the only option she had to join as well.

A YEARNING FOR UNDERSTANDING LEADS TO RAPE
Busola had embraced conservatism because she’d grown up in a polygamous family and she wanted some control over her own life in service of something bigger than herself. Her father was largely absent in her life and her mother had tried to shield them from the financial difficulty that came with parenting her and her sisters alone but she saw and it affected her deeply. Conservative Christianity gave her purpose and the structure she desperately craved. She joined the choir at COZA as a way to integrate into the church and rid herself of the discomfort she felt towards the church. Being in the choir made her visible and eventually Fatoyinbo would take an interest in her, inviting himself to her home under the guise of getting to know her better.
The first time he visited, he asked if she’d join him on an errand run. Her mother was concerned but didn’t really push when Busola insisted that she wanted to go. They drove in his white Mercedes Benz and finally spoke for the first time. Though she was normally guarded around men, Fatoyinbo was charming, using his knowledge of her family and the absence of her father to gain her trust. Before long, he was visiting the house regularly, engaging her in ways her unavoidably distant sisters weren’t.
Fatoyinbo showed up at her house unannounced. It was a Monday morning early enough that Busola Dakolo was still in her nightgown. Her mother had traveled with her sisters and were absent at service the previous sunday. He didn’t say a word, forcing her onto a chair, speaking only to command her to do as he said. It took Busola a while to come to terms with what was about to happen, and it was why she didn’t struggle or make a fuss when he pulled down her underwear and raped her. She remembers he didn’t say anything after, left to his car, returned with a bottle of Krest  and forced her to drink it, probably as some crude contraceptive. She remembers him saying.
“You should be happy that a man of God did this to you.”
At this time, his wife had just given birth to their first child, Oluwashindara.

AFFLICTION STRIKES A SECOND TIME
Busola spoke up because her husband, the singer Timi Dakolo put up a social media post on Instagram accusing Nigerian clergy of condoning rape and sexual assault. People had approached him anonymously about Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo targeting underage girls for sexual relationships and he felt obligated to publicly speak up on their behalf. His posts had created intense backlash and support and sparked rumours about who the subject of his post was and who the victims were. This wasn’t the first time Timi Dakolo had spoken up about sexual assault and he was aware of what had happened to her from the beginning of their relationship.
What motivated her to speak up about her rape was a social media post from an anonymous account that had insinuated that she had been promiscuous as a teenager and had affairs with pastors when she lived in Ilorin and questioned the paternity of her children.
The reality was, rather than the fabricated promiscuous teenager, Busola Dakolo was an isolated girl, terrified of Fatoyinbo whose salvation story heavily featured his past as a cult member. She was too terrified to tell her sisters or mother about his violence, stewing in silence for a week. Her sisters were active in the church, and to avoid suspicion she followed them to church the next Sunday. She remembers he spoke about grace during the service and after, Modele Fatoyinbo asks that she come to help her with her new baby, something she had never done before. It was normal for church members to come serve at the pastor’s house so her sisters allayed her protests.
Feeling she had no options, she went to her pastor’s house, Fatoyinbo tried to isolate her later that night from his wife and their daughter by insisting she slept in the family’s guest room. She managed to thwart his plans, appealing to the pastor’s wife to let her sleep in their master bedroom.

“No one ignores me.”
He would tell her this the next morning, smacking her butt. It was an ominous enough statement that Busola became apprehensive and tried to leave for her house once it was past twilight. It was the first of many threats she would get from the flamboyant pastor. Fatoyinbo would insist on dropping her off at home, even though she protested several times. Instead of dropping her off at the junction as he had promised, he detoured, driving her away from safety and towards a secluded spot. He threatened her the entire drive, making proclamations about how he owned her and how he was angry that he had thwarted her the night before. He opened the car, pulled her out of the passenger seat and raped her a second time in the space of a week. First behind the car, then moving her to the bonnet for ease of access.
She didn’t fight, she had lost all her will to. She’d protected her virginity for so long that having it forcefully taken this way broke her. He guided back into the car when he was done, and told her he loved her, speaking of how he’d told his pastors that men of God raped women, that there was nothing special about what he did. He dropped her off outside her home as though everything was normal. She bathed immediately after and didn’t leave her room for three days, but while her siblings were worried about her, no one made any connections between her sudden mood and her married pastor. Busola’s family was a ‘church family’, a family so involved in church activities that their home was routinely used as a hostel for visiting ministers and guests of the church. Fatoyinbo had exploited that, and did it again when he showed up the next Sunday, to ask why she hadn’t gone to church that Sunday. She was afraid of drawing attention to herself, so she went to church the next Sunday, and kept going, even though she left the choir and began to voice her dissent towards Fatoyinbo.

THE BEGINNING OF RELIEF
A dream was the catalyst for Busola opening up for the first time about Fatoyinbo raping her. Her elder sister had relocated to Lagos, and she pleaded to visit, drained from avoiding the pastor. In Lagos, her sister who she believes has the Sight, told her about a dream she had had, where she’d seen Busola crying, blood on a chair and Fatoyinbo smiling. She asked her pointedly, breaking months of silence and starting a flood of admissions about the rape and everything that had happened. Her sister convinced her to return to Ilorin and together they told her other sisters and her brother, who was studying at the University of Ilorin. Her brother flew into a rage, grabbing a pocket knife and taking her to Fatoyinbo’s house. He was able to intercept them before they reached his house, and together with Wole Soetan, who she suggests is now the pastor of the COZA Portharcourt branch, convince them to return home and that Fatoyinbo would follow.
The pastor and two of his church members would eventually come to pacify her family, blaming the devil and Soetan even promising to leave the church to show how little tolerance he had for promiscuity. After Soetan would confide in Busola that he couldn’t leave the church because he felt Fatoyinbo was ‘weak’ and needed spiritual guidance and support. He convinced her siblings to keep the rape and assault from her mother.  Numb to all emotion, Busola pretended to concede and after two weeks of constant visitation from the pastors and the unspoken implication that Fatoyinbo was an alleged reformed cultist with a lot to lose if news of her rape went public, she returned to the church to protect her family and project normalcy. It was clear to her at this point that she would never feel comfortable within organized religion.
Fatoyinbo continued to target Busola in the intervening months, organizing prayer sessions and specialized deliverance sessions with guest pastors to help ‘repair’ her ‘bondage’ and suggesting to her that the violence he had meted towards her was a problem they both had in common and needed communal deliverance, Busola would find out that Fatoyinbo had been telling church members that she wasn’t ready for a relationship when the pastor’s cousin befriended her. Their time would eventually develop into a relationship and she would confide in him about what had happened to her.
With his help, she would leave the church and join another congregation.

#AFCON2019: Super Eagles go on strike in Egypt over unpaid allowances

The Super Eagles are currently on strike in Egypt over unpaid allowances. According to BBC Sports Journalist, Sulaimon Folarin, the footballers who are in Egypt for AFCON2019, have refused to train today June 25th over their unpaid allowances.
The footballers say their bonuses for the 1-0 win over Burundi, which comes to $10k per player, is yet to be settled.
However, NFF president Amju Pinnick told newsmen in Egypt that they have the Naira value of the bonuses to pay, which the players have refused to accept, because the official conversion rate to USD is lower than the open market rate, which means the players will lose money.
The Super Falcons also staged a similar protest after they were knocked out of the ongoing 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France against Germany on Saturday June 22nd.

Sanusi declares Nigeria under Buhari a Bankrupt Nation

The Former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor and Emir of Kano State, Sanusi Lamido has disclosed that Nigeria is a bankrupt nation under Buhari’s administration and further stated that the country is on the threshold of bankruptcy.
The Former CBN Chief reportedly declared this while speaking during the ongoing 3rd National Treasury Workshop organised by the office of the Accountant General of the Federation, holding in Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano State.
According to Emir Sanusi, Nigeria is on the threshold of bankruptcy, following unfavourable economic policies such as subsidising petroleum products and electricity tariffs. Also, Emir advised that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration cancel subsidy in petroleum and electricity tariffs if the economy must stabilise.
Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, Emir of Kano (Former CBN Governor).
“the country is bankrupt and we are heading to bankruptcy. What happened is that the Federal Government do pay petroleum subsidy, pay electricity tariff subsidy, and if there is a rise in interest rates, Federal Government pays.
“What is more life-threatening than the subsidy that we have to sacrifice education, health sector and infrastructure for us to have cheap petroleum? If truly President Buhari is fighting poverty, he should remove the risk on the national financial sector and stop the subsidy regime which is fraudulent.” – Emir Sanusi
The Big challenges: The former apex bank chief further stated that the economic challenges facing the Buhari’s administration are life-threatening and require urgent policy actions.
“…So let us talk about the state of public finance in Nigeria. We have a number of very difficult decisions that we must make, and we should face the reality.
“His Excellency, the President said in his inaugural speech that his government would like to lift 100 million people out of poverty, it was a speech that was well received not only in this country but worldwide.
“The number of people living with poverty in Nigeria is frightening. By 2050, 85 per cent of those living in extreme poverty in the world will be from the Africa continent. And Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo will take the lead.”
President Muhammadu Buhari
Sanusi’s Concerns: Speaking further, the Emir Lamented that for 30 years, successive governments have had this project called petroleum subsidy, insisting that this is the right time to stop it so as to save the nation’s economy.
“Two days ago, I read that the percentage of government revenue going to debt services has risen to 70 per cent. These numbers are not lying. They are public numbers. I read them in the newspapers. When you are spending 70 per cent of your revenue on debt services, then you are managing 30 per cent.”

Tribunal dismisses Atiku, PDP’s request to access and inspect INEC’s server

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has dismissed an application by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to have access and inspect the Central server said to have been used by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the conduct of the February 23 presidential election.
In a unanimous ruling delivered today Monday June 24th, Justice Mohammed Garba-led bench of five judges, upheld the separate objections by the three respondents to the application. The three respondents are INEC, Buhari and his party, the All Progressives Congress.
Delivering judgement in the application, the tribunal held that granting such an application when INEC have denied the existence of the said server and insisted that results of the election were not electronically transmitted into any server as alleged by the petitioners, would cause more confusion and distract the tribunal.
Justice Garba added that granting the application would imply that the court had “indeed recognised and found out that there is a central server into which results of the held on February 23, 2019 were electronically transmitted by the 1st respondent (INEC)”.
Atiku is contesting the result of the February 23rd presidential election which President Buhari was declared winner. Atiku in a petition before the tribunal, insisted that he won going by the records on INEC's server. INEC has however come out to denied claims that it uploaded results from various polling units on its server during the presidential election.

Innoson boss reacts to arrest warrant, says GTBank is responsible

The founder and chairman of Innoson Nigeria Limited, Innocent Chukwuma has reacted to the arrest warrant issued by the Federal High Court yesterday. The court had granted the request of a Director in the Ministry of Justice to arrest Chukwuma and two others, in order to arraign him in court to face criminal charges.
Chukwuma in a series of tweets on his company’s Twitter account, @innosonvehicles, stated that Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) was behind the arrest warrant issued, stating that the issuance of bench warrant against him is an abuse of process taken too far.
Nairametrics had reported that Justice Ayokunle Faji granted the request made by the prosecutor, Mr Julius Ajakaiye to arrest Chukwuma, Charles Chukwu, and Anajekwu Sunny over their refusal to present themselves in court for a case bordering on conspiracy, forgery, and fraud to the tune of N2.4 billion filed by the IGP through the Federal Ministry of Justice sometime in December 2015.

Innoson arrest warrant, innoson and GTBank, NADDC injects N11bn fund into local vehicle production
The three, alongside Innoson Nigeria Limited and a shipping company, Mitsui Osk, were charged before the court, but only Mitsui Osk was represented in court. So Ajakaiye informed the court that the warrant of arrest was in pursuant with sections 113, 114 and 395 of Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015.
Chukwuma refuted the charges in a press release sent to Nairametrics. He explained that there is no prima facie case against him. According to Chukwuma, the charge was based on suspected action of Innoson Nigeria Limited, and Innoson Nigeria Limited was a party originally to the charge but was discharged by the Court of Appeal. Recall that Nairametrics reported that the Appeal Court discharged Innoson Motors.
The issuance of bench warrant against me by the Federal High Court Ikoyi Lagos, today, June 24th 2019 is an abuse of process taken too far by the Court and made without jurisdiction. The order itself is a nullity and does not have grounds on law.
Firstly, there is no prima facie case against me. The charge was based on suspected or trumped up action of Innoson Nigeria Ltd and Innoson Nigeria Ltd was a party originally to the charge but was discharged by the Court of Appeal.
No grounds for arrest warrant: The Innoson boss said that there was no notice of trial served on him in pursuant to the Administration of Criminal Justice Act.
He disclosed that a case is pending in the Supreme Court to determine whether he was served with the charge, adding that the charge is also an abuse because of a similar suit in relation to the charge pending at different Federal High Courts.
But this is not the first time an arrest warrant will be issued against Chukwuma. Justice Mojisola Dada of the special offences court in Lagos had done same in 2018. He had also been arrested by Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2017, an incident many believed was in connection to Innoson Motor’s ongoing case with GTBank. The bank, however, issued a statement denying their involvement in the development.
Note that the act provides that before the court should issue a bench warrant, there must be proof of service of the charge and the notice of trial on the person involved.
Secondly, there was no notice of trial served on me pursuant to the Administration of Criminal Justice Act. The act provides that before the court should issue a bench warrant, there must be proof of service of the charge and the notice of trial on the person involved.
But there is no notice of trial served on me and the question of whether I, Innocent Chukwuma has been served with the charge is still pending at the Supreme Court. More importantly, the charge is also an abuse because of earlier similar suit in relation to the charge pending at
Police dropped charge against him: Chukwuma further stated that the basis of the arrest warrant was no longer valid as the Police had withdrawn the 2015 charge (CHARGE NO: FHC/L/565/2015) filed against him on February 17, 2016. The withdrawal was filed at the Federal High Court Registry in Lagos.
But there is no notice of trial served on me and the question of whether I, Innocent Chukwuma has been served with the charge is still pending at the Supreme Court. More importantly, the charge is also an abuse because of earlier similar suit in relation to the charge pending at
Thirdly, The said CHARGE NO: FHC/L/565/2015 which is a trumped up was filed by the police in 2015 and was equally withdrawn by the same police through its notice of withdrawal dated 17th February, 2016 duly filed at the
According to Chukwuma, GTB compelled an unnamed Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to claim to have taken over the Charge/case using the name of the Attorney General of the Federation after the Police had withdrawn the case.
The DPP was eventually dismissed from his position due to his involvement in this matter and his complicities, Chukwuma alleged in the statement.
GTB characteristically got the then Director of Public Prosecution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (names withheld) to claim to have taken over the Charge/case using the name of the Attorney General of the Federation.
This is after the Police have withdrawn the case.
Interestingly, that DPP involvement in this matter and his complicities therein led to his removal as the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Why GTBank is pulling the strings according to Chukwuma is to compel the Innoson Motors chairman to negotiate from a ‘weaker position’ in a case involving Innoson Motors and GTBank.
The argument on whether the Office of the Attorney General is empowered to take over a case that the Police have originally withdrawn is still going on at the Supreme Court.
The public should be aware that this latest order is being orchestrated by Guaranty Trust Bank in order to force me negotiate with the bank from a weaker position.
It will be recalled that in a decision of 27th February 2019 in Appeal No:SC.694/2014 between
What transpired between GTB and Innoson: The company claims that GTBank lost a Supreme Court appeal for it to rescind the lower court’s decision for it to pay back Innoson N2.4 billion plus interest at 22% per annum in “illegal charges” against the car maker.
According to Innoson, the Judgment debt of N2.4 billion has an accrued interest of about N6,717,909,849.96 as of 2019, which results in about N8.8 Billion, but as of 2014, it was N6 billion.
In the statement, the company urged GTBank to comply with the Supreme Court judgment and pay the over N9 billion judgment debt within the unstated time-frame given to the bank or Innoson will execute the Writ of Fifa against GTBank.
What is a Writ of Fifa: This is a court document used by the successful plaintiff to enforce the judgment of a court by taking a lien on a property of the defendant that it believes is worth more than the amount being owed.
I therefore advice the bank for the benefit of its shareholders to quickly comply with the Supreme Court judgment and pay the over N9billion judgment debt. Failure to do so within the short period of grace that Innoson Nigeria Ltd granted to the bank will lead to the final
Meanwhile, I have appealed against the Order of Bench Warrant to the Court of Appeal and have as well filled a Motion for Stay of Execution of the Order.
Meanwhile, he disclosed that he has filed a suit to appeal against the Order of Bench Warrant to the Court of Appeal and have as well filled a Motion for Stay of Execution of the Order.
GTBank is yet to respond to the accusation of perpetrating the arrest warrant of Chukwuma.

Drake 'paid' $350,000 to IG model to settle rape claim as she reveals lurid details of their encounter

Canadian rapper, Drake reportedly paid out $350,000 to a woman who accused him of sexual assault in 2017.
TheBlast.com reported on Wednesday that the amount plus lurid details of the alleged incident have been made public in a complaint filed by Laquana Morris against her New York attorney.
According to the publication, the settlement was made by the rapper even though no charges were brought against him following an investigation by police in Manchester, England.
In her complaint, filed with the New York Attorney Grievance Committee against Alexander Cabereiras, Morris describes what allegedly happened after she and Drake went back to his hotel room following the Manchester concert of his Boy Meets World tour in February 2017.
The former stripper and Instagram model wrote: 'Drake forced me to perform oral on him. It wasn't your ordinary oral it was more so a fetish.'
She then describes how he told her to spit into a cup 'until he had measured it.'
Recall back in June 2017, Morris filed a police report in the UK and hired her attorney in January 2018. But the British refused to pursue a prosecution against Drake citing a lack of evidence, according to documents submitted in her filing.
In September 2018, Drake filed a lawsuit against Morris claiming she had tried to extort him with phony pregnancy and rape claims.
The two parties reached a settlement in November 2018.
According to TheBlast, Morris is aggrieved that the settlement with Drake included a statement, which, she now says, portrayed the Canadian hitmaker as the victim in the situation.

Drake
She's also claiming that her attorney worked with Drake's attorney against her best interests.
In response, sources close to the God's Plan rapper told The Blast that by revealing the details of the settlement, which also included a requirement she does not repeat her allegations of sexual assault, Morris is now in breach of said agreement.
Sources suggested that she will have to return the initial payment of $125,000 that was made as well as face possible claims for significant damages from the rapper.

Chinese tech giant, Huawei, to lose astronomical $30billion in the next 2 years due to US ban

The world's second largest phone makers, Huawei, has revealed that the Chinese company will lose about $30billion in the next two years due to the US' stringent ban on its products and services.
The Donald Trump led US Administration this year, imposed a ban on all Huawei cellphones and component sales and also warned US based companies and its allies to avoid doing business with Huawei as the Chinese company spies on other governments using its equipments on the request of the Chinese government.
Tensions between the U.S. and the Chinese tech giant have escalated since Huawei’s chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou, Ren’s daughter, was arrested in Vancouver, Canada, in December at the request of U.S. authorities. Meng was accused of trying to evade U.S. sanctions on Iran by trying to sell equipment to the country, ever since then coupled with the US trade war on China, the US has imposed business restrictions on the Chinese giant.
"We never thought that the U.S.'s determination to attack Huawei would be so strong, so firm," Ren said Monday during a panel discussion at company headquarters in Shenzhen, stating Huawei’s sales revenue for the next two years will be about $100 billion — down from the previous target he made in February of $125 billion in 2019
“…We cannot get components supply, cannot participate in many international organizations, cannot work closely with many universities, cannot use anything with U.S. components, and cannot even establish connection with networks that use such components.”
''The company's current situation is not caused by American businesses, but rather by certain politicians' different perspectives," Ren said while comparing the tech giant's current state to a "badly damaged plane." "I think both sides will suffer. No one will win."
In March, Tech giant, Huawei filed a lawsuit in the U.S. challenging the constitutionality of a national security law which prevents the U.S. government and its contractors from using Huawei equipment.

Court issues bench warrant on Senator Albert Bassey over money laundering allegations

Justice A. A. Okeke of the Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Monday, June 17, 2019, granted an application made by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for the arrest of a serving Senator, Albert Bassey popularly known as OBA, compelling him to appear in court and face the money laundering charges preferred against him by the Commission.
The serving Senator, according to his counsel Barrister Samuel Ikpo, failed to appear in court because he was not served a copy of the charge. Ikpo also added that he was instructed by his client, to appear in court and receive the charge on his behalf.
However, the prosecution through its counsel, Mohammed Sadisu Abubakar gave detail account the court on efforts made by the Commission to serve the lawmaker.
"My lord, since the filling of the charge, the prosecution has made frantic efforts to serve the suspect the charge but all our efforts proved abortive, as the suspect, who has been on administrative bail granted him by the EFCC has jumped bail. The Investigating Officer, Osatuyi Ayodele, also placed a call to him on June 6, 2019, inviting him to the office so as to be served the charge, but the Lawmaker failed to show up after he promised that he would.
“One of his (Senator Bassy) lawyer, Ini Utuk, was also contacted on June 7, 2019, but equally failed to show up, after promising to do so. Till this moment My lord, the suspect has failed, to honour the terms of his administrative bail which is to always make himself available.
“In the circumstances my lord, I humbly apply, pursuant to Section 113 and 114 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act for this honourable court to issue a warrant for the arrest of the suspect and to produce him before this honourable court", Abubakar said.
But the defense counsel however argued that the charge be given to him since the matter was coming up for the first time before the court and that the suspect was not served the copy of the charge. "The defendant was sworn in last week in Abuja as a Senator. I respectfully apply that the charge be given to me to hand over to him", said Ikpo.
Responding on point of law, the EFCC counsel countered the argument of the defence, as he hinged his argued on the provisions of Section 114 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act.
He said, "My lord, Section 114 of the ACJA provides that the court can issue an order for the first time, depending on the nature and circumstances of the case and the nature and circumstances of this case gives rise for the issuance of a bench warrant. This is a criminal matter and there is no provision in ACJA 2015 to serve a charge through counsel in respect of a suspect who has not appeared before the court. My lord, I urge you to discountenance the submissions of the defence counsel", Abubakar argued.
After listening to both sides, Justice Okeke upheld the arguments of the prosecution. "Section 114 of the ACJA is instructive on this issue. The court can issue a warrant on the first day depending on the circumstances and nature of the case. One should lead by example and to whom much is given, much is expected.
“Where the defendant found it necessary to attend a legislative function, he should also find it obligatory to honour invitations by law enforcement agencies. Justice is for all in the temple of justice and if there is any application to be granted in the interest of justice, it should be the application made by the prosecution. The court therefore grants the application and consequently issue a bench warrant against the defendant for his production in this court on the next adjourned date", the court ruled.
The matter was thereafter adjourned to June 24, 2019, for arraignment. Senator Albert Bassey is the senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial district in the Upper Chamber.

Former Egyptian president, Mohammed Morsi collapses and dies in court

Egypt's former president Mohammed Morsi, who was ousted by the army in 2013, has died in court.
According to State TV, he reportedly collapsed after a court session where he was facing espionage charges and subsequently died.
Morsi, 67, was democratically elected in 2012 after the 2011 Arab Spring saw the end of President Hosni Mubarak's 30-year rule. He was then deposed following mass protests and a military coup in July 2013.
He served just one year of a four-year term, while the organisation to which he belonged, the Muslim Brotherhood, has since been outlawed. The Cairo Criminal Court had postponed the trial of Morsi and 23 others in the case of "collaborating with Hamas" for tomorrow.
In November 2016, the Court of Cassation scrapped the life imprisonment sentence for Morsi and 21 other defendants, including some who had received the death penalty, in the same case, and ordered a retrial.

Cuba Gooding Jr. surrenders to NYPD on groping allegation, charged with 'forcible touching

Oscar-winning actor, Cuba Gooding Jr. has been arrested on suspicion of forcible touching after he turned himself in.
The 51-year-old actor turned himself into authorities at about 2 p.m on Thursday, where he was arrested for the misdemeanor charge, NYPD Detective Martin Brown confirmed to The Washington Post.
According to police, Gooding touched a woman without her consent on Sunday night in Midtown Manhattan. The woman filed a police report.
The 29-year-old woman told cops the actor grabbed her breast while they were socializing around 9 p.m. at the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge on 7th Avenue in Midtown. She also claimed that Gooding was “highly intoxicated” and that, after the alleged grab, she got into an argument with him that had to be broken up by security.
Gooding denied the accusations when approached by TMZ on Wednesday.
“I trust the system and the process,” he said. “There’s a tape that shows what really happened. That’s the most important thing.”
His arrest comes after his lawyer Mark Heller told Daily Mail that he watched a surveillance video that shows his client's interactions with the 29-year-old woman at Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge and it shows Gooding did nothing wrong.
According to him, the video captures the whole evening and it shows he did nothing wrong. They can't arrest someone who did nothing wrong.'
Heller said the video shows Gooding didn't touch the woman's breast, hug her or do anything inappropriate. He did note that the video merely shows the woman handing him a glass of water.
However, an NYPD source said police also watched the video and that it supports the woman's contention.
'I saw the video and there's no doubt he touches her breast,' the source said. 'We're not going against the victim. The video corroborates what she said.'
'It's a quick thing,' he said of the alleged groping. 'He's drunk, he's all over her. He puts his hands on her lap then touches her breast.'
'You don't notice a reaction immediately,' the source noted, but said the woman did call 911 to report the incident.

Real Madrid leapfrogs others to emerge the world’s most valuable football club

Despite the fact that both clubs displayed lacklustre performances during the 2018/19 Champions League football competition, Real Madrid and Manchester United are still the two most valuable football clubs in the world.
The clubs attract an incredible number of fans, mega sponsorship deals, media licensing rights, bonuses, and so on.
However, for the first time in three years, there were some leapfrogging on the chart of the most valuable football clubs ranking. For example, Real Madrid CF leapfrogged Manchester United FC to clinch the top. Also, Bayern München rose to the third, leapfrogging FC Barcelona which slipped to the 4th position.
Why the Changes? According to KPMG ‘s annual football clubs valuation report, the revolution atop the chart is because both Manchester United FC and FC Barcelona suffered an annual decline in their Enterprise Value by 1% and 4% respectively. Also, having won the UEFA Champions League three times in a row, Real Madrid FC has cashed in significantly more UEFA prize money than Manchester United.
The top European elite club: Similarly, further changes among the European elite club for 2019 include Tottenham FC surpassing Juventus FC to hit the 9th position, as well as Arsenal FC dropping two spots to the 8th position behind Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC.
Ranking Metrics: Notably, the two 2019 UEFA Champion League finalists boasted remarkable financial performance in the past season, as Liverpool boosted its Enterprise Value (EV) by 33%, while Tottenham Hotspur FC EV increased by 31%. The key metrics reportedly used in ranking the football clubs in terms of valuation include the club finance and operations, social media analytics and players valuation.
The Billionaire Elite Clubs: Real Madrid CF tops the elite billionaire club list with a 10% year on year increase in total valuation after recording an estimated at €3.22 billion. It is followed by Manchester United with €3.20 billion valuations, while FC Bayern Munchen is worth €2.69 billion. Others include

FC Barcelona          – €2.69 billion
Manchester City FC – 2.46 billion
Chelsea FC             – €2.22 billion
Liverpool FC           – 2.09 billion
Arsenal FC              – €2 billion
Tottenham Hotspur FC – €1.67 billion
Juventus FC             – €1.54 billion

Most valuable squad in Europe: Among the top 10 clubs with the most valuables squads (players value) are;

Manchester City – €1.18 billion
FC Barcelona – €1,111 billion
Liverpool – €1,038 billion
Real Madrid – €958 billion
Paris Saint-Germain FC – €906
Tottenham Hotspur FC – €876
Manchester United FC – €846
Chelsea FC – €842
Atletico de Madrid – €840
Juventus FC – €788

Bottom Line: As the transfer window is set to be officially opened later this month, several transfer deals that have been reportedly completed by the top clubs will be announced. This is expected to witness some record-breaking transfers, as the Europe elite clubs heat up the market valuations and contest for titles in the coming season.
Therefore, it will be tough for clubs with lower budgets to compete with Europe’s elite clubs; particularly smaller clubs who appear already frozen out in the scheme of things.
