Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi was given a heroic treatment
by fans of his new club Middlesbrough following his outstanding display during
his team's 1 - 0 win against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.
During the game, the 31-year-old who joined the Championship
side on a free transfer earlier this year from Tianjin TEDA made 63 touches, he
had 52 passes attempted and 47 passes completed.
The official Twitter page of Middlesbrough described Mikel
as the ‘Rolls Royce midfielder’ on social media, while fans were filmed after
the match hailing and chanting praises to the Super Eagles captain and even
called him African Zidane.
