On Tuesday, Manchester United announced they have sacked
Jose Mourinho after the club lost 3 - 1 to Liverpool on Sunday.
According to reports, Mourinho arrived at the training ground
at 9am on Tuesday - before being called to a face-to-face meeting with
executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward where he was told he was fired.
The news was then officially confirmed at 9:46 am with the
club releasing a statement to announce his dismissal.
United have also announced that the recruitment for a new
manager is on while a caretaker manager will be at the helm of affairs for the
rest of season. However, sacking Mourinho is going to cost United a fortune as
the club might have to dish out an amount close to £24 million (Close to USD 30
million/ Close to Rs 215 crores), as reported by SportsJoe.UK.
Mourinho who was appointed Manager in May 2016, had signed a
new contract, earlier this year, of worth £65 million, earning him close to £18
million a year.
However, due to early termination of the contract, United
will be paying out a whopping amount of money to the Portuguese.
